JOE BAKER HAS RETURNED as manager of the Teague Brookshire Bros. grocery store. He and his staff are trying to make improvements to make the store the best that it can be for the people of Teague.
Joe Baker is back as manager of our Teague Brookshire Bros. grocery store after being the manager in Buffalo for two and a half years. He was at the Teague store for one and a half years before going to Buffalo and also in Fairfield for a few months. In the past Mr. Baker was manager for Joe?s Crab Shack in Mesquite and Luby?s in the Dallas area.
Joe Baker grew up in Ennis where he graduated from Ennis High School in 1984. He attended Tarleton State University and played football for the Tarleton Texans, graduating in 1990.
Joe married his high school sweetheart Suzann who also graduated from Ennis High School in 1984. Joe and Suzann have a son, Dillon, 21, who is following in his dad?s footsteps and is currently attending Tarleton State studying Wildlife Management. Suzann works for Community National Bank as a teller.
The Bakers moved to Wortham in 2002. ?We looked and looked and finally found a good place where we wanted to live in Wortham,? said Baker. ?It took us two years before we got the 31 acres cleaned up but we are very happy there.?
Mr. Baker wanted to say,? I?m really glad to be back in our Teague store. When I was transferred I always wanted to come back,? said Baker. ?I was treated with such warmth and made to feel so welcome by the people of Teague. Hopefully we can all work together to make the Teague Brookshire Bros. the best place to shop. I have a great staff to help me do it,? added Mr. Baker.
