Nine year-old Madison Bragg has won five medals playing in STPGA Junior Golf Program

NINE-YEAR-OLD MADISON BRAGG has won five medals this year playing golf with the Southern Texas Professional Golf Association junior golf program. Madison began playing golf when she received her first set of clubs when she was two and a half years old. She is the daughter of John and Jennifer Bragg.

Madison Bragg, 9 years old, has won 5 medals this year touring Southern Texas while playing for the STPGA (Southern Texas Professional Golf Association) junior golf program. This is Madison?s first year to play in the program and she has earned two 3rd place medals, two 4th place medals and one 5th place medal.

Madison currently competes in the ages 6-9 co-ed division and has competed against both boys and girls all year. Madison Is excited to move up when she turns 10 in April to ages 10-12 girls only division. Madison has been playing golf since she was 2 ? years old, when she received her first set of golf clubs. Madison practices at least 3 to 4 times a week and receives lesson from a PGA Professional Golf Instructor. Madison has just begun her Fall Series schedule and will play through the end of October. Tournaments are held on Saturdays and Sundays through the school year.

One of Madison?s current goals is to qualify at age 12 to play in the Legends Junior Tour. The Legends Tour is part of the Texas Junior Golf Alliance; a joint venture between the Texas Golf Association, Northern and Southern Texas PGA and Houston Golf Association. Since its inception in 2005, the Tour has provided over $250,000 to promote junior golf initiatives and exposure to the game to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity across the state. The Legends Junior Tour is home to such prestigious events as the HP Byron Nelson Junior Championship, Texas Cup Invitational, Jackie Burke Cup and Texas State Junior Championship.

Madison plans to play golf for the Girls Teague Lion Golf Team in High School and would like to attend Texas A & M with hopes of playing for their Women?s Golf Team.

Madison?s father is John Bragg owner of JML Land/Gas Services and her mother Jennifer is currently an Educational Diagnostician. Madison?s younger sister, Landree, age 6, also plays golf and attends Teague Elementary School.
