The Foundation is Secure

A man was wanting to buy some ocean-front property, so he took his family and went to see a realtor and told him what he was looking for. The realtor took them to some choice spot on the ocean front and told him this would be a prime spot for them to build. "Yeah, but," said the man, "I'm concerned about the foundation. How strong is this sand?" "Why, sir," responded the realtor, "I'll have you know that our houses are built on good-solid-sand!"

That's the trouble with a lot of people. They are building the foundation of their lives on "good solid sand!" Then they wonder why things fall apart. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2:19, "The foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, 'The Lord knows those that are His.'"

In the troubled times that we live, we need to be sure that we are building on a solid foundation. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." If your foundation is merely a good life, a good philosophy, good health, or wealth and influence, or even love, without Jesus Christ, it will all crumble. Our love, as good as it may be, will only last until the next crisis comes. Only Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross for our sins will stand. This is not only true for our personal life, but it's true for the life of the world as well. Look at all the unrest and turmoil that's taking place in the middle east. The love of God is not the fuel for society there, but a bent towards religious and political domination and power struggle. Nothing sure can be found there, except chaos.?

One day the sky is going to open and a shout is going to be heard all around the world. It will be the shout of the Archangel and at that very moment the Bible tells us that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess on earth that Jesus Christ is Lord. And when the final battle is won, and all God's enemies are destroyed, then will He set up His Forever Heavenly Kingdom.?

I want to be on the winning side, don't you? It all depends on what foundation you are building on. There is an old Hymn entitled "How Firm A Foundation", and that foundation is that which I've spoken about, Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sins. The promise is, "Whosoever calls upon the Lord, will be saved," Rom. 10:13. Will you call upon Him today?
