Annette Matthews
Annette Matthews, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at her residence at Lake Limestone.
There will be no services at the funeral home.
She was born on July 19, 1949, in Columbia, Mississippi. Mrs. Matthews worked for H. L. & P. for many years and was the first female operator in the company. She also was the first person to score 100% on the simulator test.
She is survived by her husband of over thirty-one years, James Matthews of Lake Limestone; one daughter, Teresa Henderson of Mexia; one son, James Timothy Matthews of Houston; grandchildren, James C. Matthews, Carrisa Henderson, and Kyle Henderson; her mother, Ruth Welch of Houston; one sister, Ginny Lovell of Houston; numerous nieces & nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by one sister, Pat Reis, one brother, Bubba Ward, and one nephew, Tony Reis.

J.L. "Jeff" Durham
Funeral services for J.L. ?Jeff? Durham were held on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at True Vine DOXA Center in Fairfield, Texas. Reverend Michael Daniels, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Burial was at Fairfield Baptist Cemetery in Fairfield.
J.L. was born on August 7, 1974 in Freestone County, Texas to John Lee Durham and Bulah Mae Manning. He passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. J.L. was 38 years old.
J.L. accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Behind the Veil Church. He attended and received his education in the Fairfield ISD.
Mr. Durham was preceded in death by his father; his grandmother Ruby Jo Durham; grandparents J.P. and Ozzie Taylor Randle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Bulah Mae Manning of Fairfield; his special friend Sharonda Woods; his sisters Bridgette Durham (Keith McElroy), Ashley Mims, Pamela (Dexter) Brackens-Barnes; his nieces Taylor Tippen, Alexis Ealy; nephews Tyler Smith, Trevon Durham, a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for Mr. Durham were Dorsey Anderson, Edward Brackens, David Brackens, Kendrick Parks, Brandon Crenshaw, Cloris Robinson.
Honorary Pallbearers were Tracy Garrett, Willie Dowell, Byron Jones, Antor Burns, Darion Owens.

Winford Ray Jones
Winford Ray Jones passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. He was 55 years old.
Winford Ray was born on July 22, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Raymond and Ethelene Jones. He accepted Christ early in life and united with Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Oakwood, Texas. He later attended Good Shepherd Church in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jewel Jones.
Those left to cherish his many memories are his brothers Alvin Hones of Arlington, Robert Jones of Fort Worth; his sisters Dolores Jones of Cedar Hill, Ethel Humes and husband James of Mesquite; his niece Sherri Williams of Lancaster, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held on Sunday, September 16, 2013, at Brown Chapel AME Church in Oakwood, Texas. The Reverend Joey Baggett, Pastor and the Reverend C.L. Cooks officiated at the service. Interment was at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Oakwood.
Pallbearers for Mr. Jones were Calvin Turner, Rodney Ringer, Charles Jones, Emzell Jones, Jr., Donald Jones, Tommy Brooks, Willie Earl Turner, Charles Ringer.
Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Ringer, Henry Ringer, Curtis Ringer, Alvin Jones, and Robert E. Jones.
Emanuel Funeral Homes of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
Bonner Missildine
Bonner Missildine, Jr. 60, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 at his residence. Services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Suits, II and Pastor Eston (Buddy) Turner officiating. Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery.
Bonner, known by family and friends as Buster, was born November 14, 1951 in Fairfield; to parents Bonner and Mary Juanita Taylor Missildine. He was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Fairfield High School. He also graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a bachelor?s degree in accounting. He married Shirley Nevills on October 13, 1974. Bonner was a heavy equipment operator and worked for fifteen years at Big Brown Mine. Later in life he was employed with Capps Memorial Chapel as a grave service equipment operator. Buster was known as a singer, songwriter and gifted musician. He was a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. In addition to his father who died in 1985 and his mother in 2010, Bonner was preceded in death by a niece, Kelly Missildine Williams.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Shirley; two sons, Leslie Bonner and wife Sandra of Fairfield; Mark Bonner and wife Montana of Livingston; five siblings, Diane Sumrall and husband Paul of Perry, FL; David Missildine and wife April of Denison Springs, TX; Sharon Hardwicke and husband Bob of Longview, TX; Ricky Missildine and wife Alisha of Grapeland, TX; Chris Missildine of Fairfield; five grandchildren, Rebecca Mobley, Erin Beshears, Jaimie Beshears, Matthew Stockbridge, Victoria Missildine; one great-granddaughter, Rainey Marie Beshears as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward Leon DeZell
Graveside services for Mr. Edward DeZell, 74, were held on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 1:00p.m. at Mexia City Cemetery in Mexia. Rev. Alan Van Hooser officiated.

Mr. DeZell passed away peacefully with his wife of fifty-four years by his side on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Pasadena. He fought a brave fight against cancer. He was born on July 17, 1938 to Leon & Jewell DeLo DeZell in Mexia. He graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1956. Mr. DeZell worked until his retirement as a Dispatcher for Houston Lighting & Power Co. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a Christian man who was always there to help relatives, friends, and anyone in need. Mr. DeZell was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Pasadena.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nelda DeBerry DeZell of Pasadena; one son, Steve DeZell & wife Mary of Winnie, TX; one daughter, Lori Druckenbrodt & husband Bobby of LaPorte; six grandchildren, Jessica & husband James, Jonathan ?Charlie?, Justin, Christopher, Mason, and Brittney; two great-grandchildren, Davin and Christopher; two sisters, Kathleen Hager & husband Ercel and Datha Crutchfield both of Mexia; two brothers, Donald DeZell of Teague, and Glendon DeZell & wife Athlee of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Ernestine DeBerry White & husband Glenn; other relatives and friends.
Mr. DeZell was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bob DeZell, and one sister, Lena Frances Sims.
