The Teague Volunteer Fire Department has purchased a new rescue truck. This 2012 Dodge 5500 Ram diesel is fully equipped to supply everything needed for vehicle accidents and other types of rescue situations. It has 4-wheel drive to get into difficult areas and is a crew cab. The truck bed is custom ordered making equipment easy to use when the firemen need it quickly.
The truck was purchased from Deep South Fire Trucks, Inc. for $108,700. TVFD has been using a 1999 Ford, which has become obsolete and doesn?t fill the current needs of the department. The Dew Volunteer Fire Department has purchased the older truck to use at their department.
In order to pay the $74,000 outsanding balance on the $109,000 truck, the TVFD will hold fundraisers and accept donations. The first of the fundraisers will be a Fish Fry to be held on October 19th. Watch The Teague Chronicle for more information about the Fish Fry and other TVFD fundraisers.
