Chamber Awards Banquet Was Thursday, April 5
BOYD CUP WINNER Matthew Gillet was presented the award by his father and former Boyd Cup recipient, Richard Gillet.
The annual Teague Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet was held Thursday, April 5, at the Teague High School Cafeteria.
Awards presented during the evening's festivities include the Bill Boyd Community Service Cup Award to Matt Gillet, The Citizen of the Year Award to LaShane Criddle, The business of the Year Award to Carroll Lumber Company, and the Organization of the Year Award to the Teague Rodeo Association.
The Student of the Year Awards went to Teague Elementary School student, Hunter Hurst, son of Everett, Jr. and Amanda Hurst; Teague Intermediate School student, Dasie Cordova, daughter of Blake and Kim Silar; Teague Junior High School student, Hannah Anderson, daughter of Doug and Rachel Anderson; and Teague High School student, Landon Lancaster, son of David and Lana Lancaster.

The banquet meal was an excellent stuffed baked potato meal with all the trimmings, including brisket, salad, roll, tea or coffee, and various desserts.
Ricky Sims served as Master of Ceremonies; Jimmy Petty and Cub Scout Troop 291 Posted Colors and lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Dinner music was performed by Earle Wylie.
The Chamber of Commerce Officers for 20121-2012 were announced as LaShane Criddle, President; Rhonda Jones, Vice President; Marilyn Michaud, Secretary/Office Manager. Junior Board are Kyera Abram, Haley Guerrero, Thomas Hamilton, and Kelton Henderson.
LASHANE CRIDDLE, Director of the Teague Economic Development Corporation, (left at top left photo) was presented with the Citizen of the Year award by former recipient Pat Elliott. CARROLL LUMBER COMPANY owner Clint Skinner (top right photo) was presented the Business of the Year award by Teague Chamber of Commerce Vice President Rhonda Jones. Standing with their father are Tori Skinner and Brice Skinner. NICK JOHNSON, (left at bottom left photo) Teague High School senior was the recipient of a Special Recognition award for his recent appointment to the West Point Army Academy in New York. Presenting the award is Boyd Cup recipient Ernest Busby. BRANDON WHITAKER (left at bottom right photo), President of the Teague Rodeo Association, accepted the award for Organization of the Year on behalf of the organization, from Chris Skinner who represented the Teague Baseball Association last year when they were chosen for the award.
A special recognition award was given to West Point Appointee Nick Johnson by Ernest Busby, who gave a very fine presentation.
The Teague Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet is one of the highlights of the year. Hope to see you there next year!
