Brooks Throws Perfect Game

In 12-0 Win Over Marlin

Coby Brooks

Varsity Lion sophomore pitcher Coby Brooks hurled a perfect game against the Marlin Bulldogs at Lion Field on Friday evening, March 14th.

In a convincing 12-0 five inning 10 run rule win, Brooks faced the minimum of 15 hitters, striking out 12 Marlin batters. Of the other three outs recorded, Brooks fared in two of those as well as he fielded two ground balls and threw out the hitters at 1st base. Brooks struck out the side in the first, third, and fifth innings.

With the victory, Brooks raised his pitching record to 3—0. Only one ball off a Marlin bat reached another Teague fielder, and none made it to the outfield.

Leading hitters for the Lions were Aaron Mitchell (3-for-3), Austin Skinner (2-for-3), J.T. Jones (2-for-2), and Justin Fowler (2-for-3). Teague hosted Blooming Grove in a key district matchup on Tuesday.
